I came across Dr. Neal Khurana by accident. I had multiple sizeable uterine fibroids and for years, had been suffering from extreme pain and discomfort that was reducing my quality of life. I was told my situation would likely require a hysterectomy. I did not want to undergo major surgery requiring significant time away from work, so I chose to live with the pain and discomfort.
It was a Saturday morning, when our new kitten, Otis, hopped onto my nightstand and accidentally turned on the radio. A commercial from Vascular & Interventional Specialists was airing featuring minimally invasive treatment of uterine fibroids — Uterine Fibroid Embolization — that could shrink fibroids. I felt a glimmer of hope. I discussed with my gynecologist and he was completely on board.

Today, I am 1-year post-procedure, and I have been able to avoid a hysterectomy thanks to the alternative procedure Dr. Khurana was able to perform.
